Audio stops when one earbud is removed

If audio stops when removing one earbud while listening, try the following:

Try disabling Auto Play/Pause

Your earbuds use in-ear detection to sense when you’re wearing them. This can occur either by removing one earbud or if the eartips and stability bands do not fit correctly, causing playback to stop. Disabling this feature can help resolve audio interruptions when one earbud is removed.

  1. Open the Bose app and select your earbuds.
  2. Tap the Settings icon in the top-right corner of the app.
  3. Scroll down and tap In-Ear Detection.
  4. Tap the slider next to Auto Play/Pause. The slider will turn gray, indicating that the feature has been disabled.

If you prefer to keep this feature enabled, you can either:

  • Tap the earbud still in your ear to resume playback, or
  • Remove only one earbud from the case before pressing play.
