Using AirPlay with your SoundTouch speaker

Before you begin

AirPlay is not supported by all SoundTouch systems. Make sure you have one of the following systems that support either AirPlay 1 or AirPlay 2:

AirPlay 2 is available with iTunes 12.8 or later, macOS Catalina or later and with Apple iOS 11.4 or later for mobile, TV or HomePod devices.

Using AirPlay

Using iOS 12 or later

Note: iOS devices cannot stream to both AirPlay 1 and AirPlay 2 speakers simultaneously. You can either stream to one speaker compatible with AirPlay 1, or you can stream to one or more speakers compatible with AirPlay 2.

On the iOS device, swipe down from the upper-right corner of the screen to view the music control panel. (Some older iOS devices require a swipe up to see the music control panel)

Touch and hold the music control panel

Tap the AirPlay icon

Select the Bose system name from which to play

Begin playing music

Using a mobile or computer app that supports AirPlay

In the app, tap the AirPlay icon

Select the Bose system name from which to play

Begin playing music

Using macOS 10.8 (Mountain Lion) or later

On your computer, hold the “Option” key and click the speaker icon in the menu bar

Under “Output Device”, select the Bose system name from which to play
