Connecting additional speakers to your live sound system
Your speaker has jacks to connect additional speakers. This is useful for venues where added tonal range or sound coverage is needed.
Connect additional speakers to your bass module.
Connecting a Bose L1 Pro 32 system
If an L1 Pro system is connected via the SUBMATCH IN port on your bass module, you can use the SUBMATCH THRU port to power and connect an additional bass module.Connecting to a Bose S1 Pro system
- Connect a 1/4" (6.3 mm) cable from the LINE OUT jack on the S1 to the LINE IN 1 jack on the sub module
- On the sub module, press and hold the LINE OUT EQ button for 5 seconds until the HPF light glows green, which signals S1 EQ is active for the LINE OUT jack.
Tip: To turn off the S1 EQ, hold the button again for 5 seconds until the FULL light glows white.
Connecting all other systems
- If a mono source is connected to the LINE IN 1 jack on your bass module, connect an XLR cable from the LINE OUT 1 to a second speaker.
- If a stereo source is connected to the LINE IN 1 and LINE IN 2 jacks on your bass module, connect XLR cables from the LINE OUT 1 and LINE OUT 2 jacks to the second speaker
- Set the LINE OUT EQ:
- FULL sends a full bandwidth signal to the connected speaker
- HPF reduces the low frequencies send to the connected speaker
Using the PHASE/PATTERN control
- If you experience phase issues when using the line outpus (i.e. lack of bass or other audio quality issues), try setting the PHASE/PATTERN control on one bass module to + and the other to –.
- When using two bass modules, you can also make bass frequencies more directional by using cardiod mode. For more info, see Using Cardioid mode.
