Connect the product to AC power.
The SoundDock Portable speaker does not play alarm audio on battery power. If the speaker does not detect audio from a docked iPod after 30 minutes, it enters standby mode to preserve battery life. To exit standby mode, the speaker requires a remote command or docking an iPod.
Check if the iPhone/iPod alarm is set to play music or an alarm tone.
If the alarm on the docked iPhone/iPod is set to play music (i.e. a Playlist), the alarm will sound through the SoundDock at the last volume level. If the iPod/iPhone alarm is set to Beep, the alarm will not sound through the SoundDock.
