Poor sound quality from product
If you experience distortion, crackling, static, noise or unexpected poor sound quality from your product:
Determine if the problem is specifically related to bass performance.
If there is too little bass, see Too little bass or too much treble from product.
If there is too much bass, see Too much bass or too little treble from product.
If there is too much bass, see Too much bass or too little treble from product.
Reset your product.
Much like rebooting a smartphone, your product might need to be reset on occasion to correct minor issues. For more info, see Resetting your product.
For iPhones, try entering Airplane mode.
Before docking you iPhone, enable Airplane mode in the iPhone settings. This can help avoid interference cause by other wireless processes in the phone.
Try disabling Wi-Fi on the iPod/iPhone.
Different Wi-Fi processes on your iPod or iPhone could cause audio playback issues. In the device settings, turn off Wi-Fi, then re-dock your device and try again.
Check if the iPod/iPhone works with headphones.
Connect a pair of headphones to the iPod/iPhone, then check if audio is heard as expected. If not, the issue is with the iPod/iPhone or iPod/iPhone audio settings.
Your product may need service.
