On-head detection uses sensors to identify when you’re wearing the headphones. You can automatically play/pause audio and answer phone calls (if enabled).
A. The Bose QuietComfort Ultra headphones are equipped with On-Head Detection sensors in your right earcup. For the best possible On-Head Detection experience when using the headphones for the first time, power on the headphones before putting them on your head
Q. How does the On-Head Detection know to stop?
A. When you take your headphones off, fold them or make sure the earcups are facing down to ensure they will sleep. You can also stow them in their carry case.

To manage on-head detection features, use the Bose app. You can access this option from the Settings menu.
